The Board of Directors of the Diocese of Olympia, Inc. (the “Diocese”) has legal and fiduciary responsibility for the assets of the diocese, including land, buildings, endowments and other funds. Agenda for 2019 Convention 

This is the first draft outline agenda to assist folks in determining travel time and lodging requirements. The official call to order on Friday will be 3 pm; with workshops earlier in the day. Our goal on Saturday is to adjourn by 4 pm; however, final adjournment is dependent on requests for agenda time and length of debate and conversation.

The Diocesan Council, at its August 22 meeting, upon recommendation of the Budget & Finance Committee, adopted a balanced 2020 Diocesan Operating Budget. The Diocesan Council recommends this budget and submits it for ratification at the fall 2019 Diocesan Convention.

Diocesan Canonically Resident Clergy - October 2018

The Board of Directors of the Diocese of Olympia, Inc., recognizes its fiduciary responsibility to shareholders in the James F. Hodges Diocesan Investment Fund (DIF) to be a shareholder advocate of positive investment by the DIF in renewable energies.  As a result, the Board agreed to commission a study of the carbon footprint of DIF investments, and the results of that study are attached in an executive, annotated report.

With a 150-word limit, each candidate was asked to review the job description for the position and discuss how their gifts, experiences, skills, and interests would aid this work, and how they would invigorate and/or stimulate the ministry of the particular diocesan leadership group. Four of these resolutions have been considered by the diocesan Resolutions Committee, as required by the diocesan canons (Canon 4(e)) - which states: The Committee shall consider all Resolutions received and shall report them to Convention, either as received or as amended or combined, with recommendations, "do not consider, do pass, do not pass, refer to other committees or commissions, or no opinion." The presenters of the other two resolutions have been asked by the chair of the Budget &Finance Committee to further clarify the budgetary requirements. Once this is completed and reviewed the Resolutions Committee will make its recommendations.
