The Bishop’s Committee for the Environment (BCE) is offering small green grants to support churches in this work. Perhaps replacing worn insulation around doors and windows would save energy or drip irrigation would save water in a garden area. Green Grants will match church costs up to $750 for successful applicants.
There are a number of different grant opportunities throughout the year. Grants that are currently available and open for application are listed below.
Do you have a parish-based partnership in a developing country somewhere around the world? Funds are available to assist you in that ministry through our Diocesan Mission Grants program. At the 2015 Diocesan Convention we reaffirmed our commitment to support the UN's development goals (now known as Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs) as criteria for global mission grants. This is consistent with the mission goals of The Episcopal Church, and with our baptismal covenant "to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves."
Once again, the Bishop’s Committee for the Environment (BCE) is offering small matching grants for projects that reduce energy or water use at churches. The BCE will match church spending on these projects up to $750. Over 50% of the BCE budget is used to match church spending on these projects.
